The Virtual Workplace is available for Registered Training Organisation (RTO) use.

This product includes a SCORM file that requires the RTO to have a SCORM compatible Learning Management System.

The Virtual Workplace is made available for purchase under an unlimited use license valid until 31 July 2024. To purchase this package, you will be required to accept the terms of this license.

The Course in Gender Equity is Australia’s first accredited gender equity training program. The Course will equip individuals with the knowledge, skills and solutions to engage in gender equity work and identify and address gender equality issues in the workplace.

Gender inequality is a recognised social issue in Australia, as evidenced by the plethora of national, state and local strategies, plans and legal instruments developed to address it at its core.

The Course in Gender Equity has been accredited under Part 4.4 and 4.6 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 with the Victorian Registration & Qualifications Authority (VRQA), accreditation period 1 Aug 2019 to 31 July 2024.

The Course was developed with the support of the Victorian Government.

Course overview

The Course in Gender Equity is Australia’s first accredited gender equity training program, the course will equip individuals with the knowledge, skills and solutions to engage in gender equity work and identify and address gender equality issues in the workplace.

A graduate who has completed the full Course in Gender Equity will have the knowledge and skills to engage in gender equity work, specifically to:

  • understand gender equity theories, frameworks and regulatory environments that influence gender equity work
  • develop a gender lens and apply that lens to own work role using reflective practice
  • support gender equity within the workplace as it relates to policy and practices and engagement with internal and external stakeholders
  • apply a gender lens to the design, management and monitoring of a work context
  • complete a gender assessment of a work context such as a workplace policy, program or service

The Course in Gender Equity curriculum package comes with a suite of mapped teaching and learning resources ready for immediate delivery and an online virtual workplace.

This product includes the Course in Gender Equity Virtual Workplace SCORM file.

The Virtual Workplace – Gentown Community & Business Hub – is a virtual environment that has been developed to support the delivery and assessment of units from the Course in Gender Equity.

It includes a website presence for a fictitious organisation the Gentown Community & Business Hub and an organisational intranet with information about the organisations programs, services. structures, workplace documents, strategic partners, client and staff information.

The Intranet section of the Virtual Workplace includes a suite of branching scenarios that students can complete to reinforce learning and a number of communication pieces including leadership updates, podcasts, social media feeds and scenario videos that reinforce learning and talk to the organisations journey required to achieve gender equality in the workplace.
